CAMO Automation With EXSYN Apps: Webinar Recap
Our most recent webinar offers in-depth insights into how CAMO teams can improve data reliability and compliance through automation.
The session addressed key challenges that CAMO teams face, including manual data entry, trust issues with existing data, and the risk of human error. Sander and Ralph conducted live demonstrations showcasing automation solutions designed to enhance efficiency
Key Applications Discussed
The webinar introduced four primary automation tools designed to optimize CAMO operations. Each tool plays a crucial role in enhancing data accuracy, reducing manual workload, and improving compliance tracking.
1. Data Health Checks App
Data Health Checks provide real-time monitoring of aircraft utilization, documents, maintenance programs, and component data. This automation app reduces reliance on manual spreadsheets and inspections while helping identify potential discrepancies early. By automating or running on-demand execution of health checks, engineers receive reports highlighting suspicious data entries, ensuring immediate action through email notifications.
A proactive approach to identifying inconsistencies ensures that fleet management decisions are based on accurate and validated data, reducing operational risks.
2. AD/SB Automation & OEM Library App
AD/SB Automation & OEM Library App eliminates the time-consuming and error-prone process of manually tracking ADs and SBs. This App automatically pulls updates from regulatory authorities like EASA and FAA, cross-references them with fleet maintenance records, and pushes validated data into maintenance tracking software. Additionally, it supports predictive maintenance and data integration by automating compliance tracking and integrating OEM data into maintenance planning. By reducing manual workload, engineers can focus on higher-value tasks and strategic decision-making.
By streamlining maintenance planning and ensuring seamless compliance, this automation minimizes human error, improves regulatory tracking efficiency, and enhances overall operational performance for airlines and MROs.
3. Reliability Reporting and Analysis App
Reliability Reporting and Analysis automates the process of compiling reliability reports, reducing the inefficiency and errors associated with manual data collection. It aggregates data from multiple maintenance systems, highlights trends and potential problem areas, and generates customizable reliability reports in real time.
The ability to detect long-term trends enhances fleet reliability by allowing engineers to make informed maintenance decisions.
Key Questions from the Q&A Session
The Q&A session provided valuable insights into the technical capabilities of EXSYN’s solutions. Below are the most relevant and technically detailed questions addressed during the session:
Health Checks and Scheduling
Can health checks be scheduled automatically?
Yes, you can definitely schedule the health checks using our workflow tool to any date or time you prefer.
Do I need to run health checks on the full fleet, or can I do it individually?
You can fully select it yourself. Whether you want to run checks on an individual aircraft, a subset of three random aircraft, or the full fleet, the system allows complete flexibility in your selection.
Integration with Maintenance Software
Can your apps integrate with AMOS?
Yes, we do interface with AMOS. For example, the OEM library app has an interface that allows us to import the actual ADs and SBs into AMOS, ensuring seamless integration.
Do you have experience integrating your solutions with AMOS for tracking utilization, removals, and reliability reporting?
Yes, with the AMOS MRO software system, we have the most advanced integration of all available systems. This integration is used by multiple operators to automate data retrieval for utilization tracking, reliability analysis, and component removals.
Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins
What specific data is processed from ADs?
Yes, for both ADs and SBs, our system processes the full content, including the time requirements specified for compliance.
Reliability Reporting and Data Analysis
Is the reliability report preconfigured, or can we make layout and content changes ourselves?
There are three options: Preconfigured Reports. Our platform includes default report layouts that cover 90-95% of airline needs. Developer Customization. Users with developer access can fully customize their reports, including branding, layout, and data visualization. Onboarding Configuration. As part of onboarding, EXSYN works with each client to configure their reliability reports to fit their needs.
Can we export the data used for reliability reports and dashboards?
Yes, there are two ways to export data: Exporting from Reliability Dashboards. Users can export data directly from specific widgets in the dashboard (e.g., component reliability data). Using the Data Viewer. All tables in the Data Viewer can be exported, allowing users to extract the data that feeds the dashboards and reports.
Does the health check system use advanced intelligence, or is it rule-based?
However, some checks, such as aircraft utilization verification, incorporate advanced intelligence. For example, the system can identify suspicious flight records by comparing actual flight durations against historical averages. If a flight from Amsterdam to Madrid typically takes three hours, but a record shows a duration that significantly deviates from the norm, it will flag that as potentially erroneous.
Trial and Evaluation
Can we test these apps with our own data?
Yes, we offer evaluation projects that allow companies to test our apps with their own data. However, this requires setting up a connection between your organization’s existing systems (e.g., AMOS, TRAX, Envision). If that is not feasible, we also provide a generic demo environment, though the benefits of using demo data are more limited compared to a live evaluation with actual fleet data.
Do you have a solution for operators who do not have a proper maintenance planning software (MPS) that collects the data?
Yes, we have supported operators who relied solely on Excel spreadsheets and even PDF records instead of an integrated MRO system. In such cases, we enable reporting and analytics apps that can aggregate and structure data from Excel files. However, since everything remains manual, the automation apps would have less value in those environments.
Conclusion
This webinar showcased how automation can transform CAMO operations by eliminating manual errors, improving data reliability, and ensuring compliance with regulatory updates. By leveraging these automation tools, airlines and MROs can streamline their processes, increase efficiency, and maintain safer operations.
